7 Insights for Success
Belief
To achieve anything in your life, you first must believe in it totally. This means believing both in your heart and your mind. Belief is the lightening rod for all other essentials of achievement. If you do not believe it, you will not achieve it, and if this sounds so simple, it is..
Crystallize Your Thinking
Develop your mindset to be laser focused on what it is you want to achieve. Be specific and set goals. Identify what your vision of the future is, and set a roadmap of success for yourself. What do you need to do to get from where you are to where you want to go? Create your vision, articulate your vision and then execute that vision.
Surround Yourself With The Right People
Who you run with will tell people, as well as yourself, a lot about you. Hang out with positive people; people who are smarter than you, people who will nurture and people who will stimulate your mind. Kick and scream to stay in the company of champions and stay away from those people who would try and bring you down.
Invest In Your Personal and Professional Development
When I used to work at Vidal Sassoon’s we used to say “if you think education is expensive, try ignorance”. Education is one of the keys to your success. Invest in all areas of your personal and professional development. Shimon Peres the former prime minister of Israel and a Nobel prize winner once said” if you eat three times a day you will be fed, if you read three times a day you will be wise.” Be a sponge. Take it all in. Never stop learning and listening. Be a life long learner.
Be Open Minded
Life takes many twists and turns. Go with the flow and be prepared to take the punches thrown along your way. Be adaptable, flexible, and open to change. Don’t be one of those rigid, blinkered people who say “my way or the highway.” Try new things, experiment, and remember you pass failure every day on the way to success.
Give Back
Sir Winston Churchill used to say “You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.” Help people less fortunate than yourself. Give back to your community; share your skills and knowledge. Give to worthy causes you believe in. You will not only make someone’s day, it will make your day and life so much more worthwhile and rewarding.
See It Through
It is said that people often give up just when their success is around the corner. To be successful, one must never give up. You need to dig down deep, find the discipline, resilience and commitment to see it through to the end. You can’t allow yourself even one negative thought. The other six above insights will help to see you through, but as the old saying goes, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Tough times do not last, but tough people do.
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES
